1.1 Business Approach, non-technical
Don't change the leopard's spots
Many data migration tools are very good as software goes. The downside in our view is the targeted user to drive the tool.
SAP has a very powerful tool that can perform ANY data migration, create any report and in fact build complete applications. It is called ABAP. Unfortunately for a business analyst to use it we would have to train the business analyst to be a programmer. This should demonstrate that although a tool may be very competent it must still be written for the person who will use it.
Siamease aims at a non-technical, user driven approach with guides to lead users through the process and lends its experience to the task at hand.

The data migration is defined and driven by business analysts
Siamease aims at providing functionality that insists on empowering the client business analyst on the project team. This is the only person on the team that has knowledge of the legacy system and by the time data migration comes around they would have been fully trained in their specialist area of SAP. Using Siamease this person would also be capable of maintaining bulk data in SAP once loaded. So the intellectual capital gained in the project is not invested in external resources and lost once consultants walk off site.
The cost saving comes from the use of internal resources and by distributing the work load across the project, thereby reducing bottlenecks within the technical team.

Project and Task Management within Siamease
Data migration activities are manageable with Siamease Task Managers, Project and application classification as well as status control.

Technical integration and enhancement possible

Technical development can be done and integrated very easily without the developer having to know how the SAP applications work.
